Using Turkish documents in Azerbaijan
The Convention entered into force for Azerbaijan on 2 March 2005. Public documents issued in Türkiye are generally accepted by the authorities in Azerbaijan with an apostille; no consular legalisation is needed.
Authorities in Azerbaijan usually ask for a certified translation into Azerbaijani. Some accept a Turkish sworn translation that has been notarised and apostilled; others prefer a translation by a sworn translator in Azerbaijan. Thanks to our international network we can offer both options.
Azerbaijan acceded to the Convention and some contracting states have objected to its accession; the apostille does not apply in relations with objecting states. We confirm for every file that the apostille is accepted between Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
