Using Turkish documents in India
The Convention entered into force for India on 14 July 2005. Public documents issued in Türkiye are generally accepted by the authorities in India with an apostille; no consular legalisation is needed.
Authorities in India usually ask for a certified translation into Hindi, English. Some accept a Turkish sworn translation that has been notarised and apostilled; others prefer a translation by a sworn translator in India. Thanks to our international network we can offer both options.
India acceded to the Convention and some contracting states have objected to its accession; the apostille does not apply in relations with objecting states. We confirm for every file that the apostille is accepted between Türkiye and India.
Using documents from India in Türkiye
Documents issued by authorities in India must first receive an apostille in India. They are then translated into Turkish by a sworn translator in Türkiye and notarised if the receiving institution requires it. Our international network can take care of the apostille for you.

Is an apostille enough for India?
Yes – India is party to the Apostille Convention, so an apostille is sufficient for most documents. We also check additional requirements of the receiving authority, such as the translation language.
